Overview

Phobia is an intense, irrational fear of an object or situation that can cause significant distress and interfere with an individual's day-to-day functioning. It is an anxiety disorder that can have a detrimental impact on an individual's quality of life. Treatment typically involves counseling and medication, and in some cases, exposure therapy. Through exposure therapy, individuals are gradually and safely exposed to the situations or objects they fear, helping them to cope and ultimately become desensitized to their fear.
