Overview
Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health conditions that involve excessive levels of fear, worry, and distress that can interfere with a person’s daily activities and functioning. Anxiety disorders can significantly impair a person’s quality of life, making it difficult to engage in normal activities. Examples of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. Treatment for anxiety disorders often includes medication and psychotherapy. With appropriate treatment, people can learn to manage their symptoms and lead healthy and productive lives.
