Dentition

Dentition is the scientific study of teeth and their formation, development, and function within the mouth. It is an important field within dentistry, as it provides a deep understanding of the structure and function of teeth, which is necessary for proper dental care and the treatment of oral diseases and disorders. Oral implants, also known as dental implants, are a commonly used treatment for missing teeth. They are artificial tooth roots, made of biocompatible materials, such as titanium, that are surgically placed into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants offer several advantages over traditional dentures or bridges, including improved chewing ability, natural appearance, and long-lasting durability. Dental implant placement involves a detailed and careful approach to oral care, and it requires a skilled practitioner with specialized knowledge in the field of dentition. The dentist must consider a patient's overall oral health, bone density, and the location and extent of tooth loss to properly plan an effective implant treatment.
