in aviation Human factors in aviation is the study of how people interact with the aviation environment and how these interactions can be optimized to improve safety and efficiency. By understanding the unique strengths, weaknesses and human-machine interactions of pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft designers and maintenance technicians, human factors research is used to improve the design of equipment, procedures, and training. By reducing the chances of human error and improving ergonomics, human factors in aviation has been credited with significantly decreasing the number of aviation accidents and fatalities.
