Overview

Animal, plant, insect, bacterial, fungal and viral organisms are the main components of the natural world. Animal and plant organisms are typically visible and known to most people. Insects, bacteria, fungi, and viruses, however, are typically microscopic and often overlooked, but still vitally important to the environment and human health. All of these organisms play a critical role in the world’s ecosystems, and they all have the potential to interact with and affect one another. They are essential components of the environment, providing a balance that allows plants, animals, and humans to survive and flourish. Their study and understanding can provide insight into the workings of nature and can help scientists develop treatments and cures for diseases. With an understanding of animal, plant, insect, bacterial, fungal and viral organisms, a better vision of the intricate interconnections of life can be achieved.
