Overview
Colorectal cancer resection is the surgical removal of a cancerous tumor from the colon or rectum. This procedure is typically done by a colorectal surgeon and is one of the most common treatments for colorectal cancer. It can be used to treat early-stage or advanced tumors in order to reduce the risk of the cancer spreading and to provide relief from symptoms. It can also help to improve quality of life. The success of a colorectal cancer resection is dependent on the skill of the surgeon, the size and location of the tumor, and the patient's overall health.
