Overview
Social Cognitive Psychology is the study of how human thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are shaped by and influence the social environment. It looks at how people learn from and are influenced by those around them and how those around them are influenced by them. It is a major field in psychology that studies how individuals, actions, and behaviors are affected by social or external factors and vice versa. It is used to understand how individuals interact with their environment, how people interact with each other, and how organizations or social systems function or interact. Social Cognitive Psychology has importance in multiple fields, from clinical and health psychology to education and business. Its applications are far-reaching, from social and environmental change to improved interpersonal relationships, self-understanding, and successful organizations.
