Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people to identify and change harmful thought patterns and behaviors that cause them distress. CBT is aimed at changing unhelpful thinking, beliefs, and behaviors that lead to negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think and act can affect our mood and mental health. This type of therapy has been proven to be highly effective for treating a wide range of psychological conditions, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, and substance abuse. It is an evidence-based therapy, based on scientific research. CBT is often used as the primary treatment for many mental health issues and is also used to supplement other forms of therapy.
