Hiv-1
Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 (HIV-1) is a virus that causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). It is transmitted through bodily fluids such as blood, semen, and breast milk and infects the cells of the immune system, leaving the patient more vulnerable to a number of other infections and diseases. HIV-1 is one of the most deadly and difficult to treat diseases in the world, and as such, it is of paramount importance for researchers and medical personnel to find efficient ways of diagnosing, preventing, and treating the disease. There are currently several drugs available to treat HIV-1, but there is still no cure, and the virus is becoming increasingly resistant to existing treatments. To this end, research into HIV-1 is ongoing in the hopes of finding a cure or a more effective treatment. In the meantime, public health campaigns and awareness initiatives are essential to prevent the spread of the virus and to help those living with HIV-1 manage their symptoms and live a long and healthy life.
