Overview
HIV/AIDS is a deadly virus that is spread through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, including blood and semen. Without care and treatment, HIV/AIDS can ultimately lead to death. Care and treatment for HIV/AIDS include the use of antiretroviral drugs, which reduce the viral load in the body and prevent the development of AIDS-related illnesses. HIV/AIDS can also be managed with other treatments such as counseling, nutrition, and psychosocial support. Care and treatment of HIV/AIDS is essential in order to maintain the health of individuals infected by the virus, as well as to reduce the spread of the virus.
