Nurse Practitioners
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse who is trained to provide high-quality, comprehensive medical care, focusing on diagnosis and management of commonly encountered health problems. NPs provide primary and preventative care to individuals of all ages, and often collaborate with other providers to provide comprehensive healthcare services. NPs are qualified to diagnose and treat physical illnesses, prescribe medications, and manage overall patient health. They play a key role in the healthcare system, providing quality health care services in both outpatient and inpatient settings. NPs strive to improve patient outcomes through the effective use of evidence-based practices. They are critical members of the healthcare team, providing important services to people who may not otherwise have access to care, such as underserved populations.
