Advanced Practice Nursing
Advanced Practice Nursing is the highest level of nursing practice, focusing on the clinical care of individuals, families and communities. It combines knowledge from multiple domains of nursing, including theory, evidence-based practice and clinical expertise, to provide comprehensive and high-quality care. Advanced Practice Nursing involves independent and interdependent decision making and direct care of patients, and can include prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests and providing primary health care services. Advanced Practice Nursing helps improve patient outcomes, reduces healthcare costs and increases access to care. It is increasingly being used in many healthcare settings to complement and enhance the care provided by doctors.
