Streptococcus Agalactiae

Streptococcus Agalactiae is a species of bacteria belonging to the genus Streptococcus. It is an important human and animal pathogen, causing diseases such as mastitis in cows and invasive infections in humans. It can be found in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts of humans and other animals and can be spread through contact with contaminated food or water. S. Agalactiae can be found in raw food such as meat, eggs, and unpasteurized milk and can cause foodborne illnesses. It is also a common cause of urinary tract infections, endocarditis, septic arthritis, and meningitis. Treatment of S. Agalactiae infections with antibiotics is essential for successful treatment.
