Diabetes
Diabetes is a chronic condition wherein the body's ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in elevated levels of glucose in the blood (hyperglycemia). It is one of the most widespread chronic diseases in the world, affecting millions of people worldwide. It is associated with a heightened risk of serious health complications, such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, vision impairment, and nervous system damage. Diabetes can be managed through lifestyle changes, such as healthy eating, physical activity, and medications. Through proper management of the condition, it is possible to prevent or delay the onset of its complications.
