Overview

Informed Care Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is an approach used to assess and treat individuals who have experienced traumatic events. It focuses on creating an understanding of the impact of trauma on an individual's physical, psychological, and social functioning, and then developing interventions to help individuals recognize, manage, and heal from its effects. TIC is used in a variety of contexts, including healthcare, education, mental health, social services, and other systems. The use of TIC has been found to reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety and improve overall wellbeing and quality of life. This approach emphasizes providing a safe, trauma-sensitive environment that addresses the physical, psychological, and social needs of trauma survivors.
