Overview

Cervical cancer chemotherapy is a medical treatment wherein medication is administered to destroy cancer cells in the cervix, uterus, and other nearby organs. Chemotherapy is usually used in combination with other treatments such as surgery and radiation therapy, in order to more effectively eradicate the cancer cells and improve chances of survival. It can also be used to reduce the size of the tumor, reduce the risk of the cancer returning, and reduce symptoms and complications of advanced cancer. The benefits of cervical cancer chemotherapy have been demonstrated and it is a highly effective treatment option for many women.
