Overview
Sarcoma cells are cancer cells found in the connective tissue of the body. They are a type of cancerous cell that have an aggressive and malignant growth pattern and can spread to other parts of the body. Sarcomas are the eighth most common type of cancer and can be found in the bones, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissue. They can cause significant damage to the surrounding tissue, organs, and other body systems, and can lead to pain, swelling, and other symptoms. Treatment options for sarcomas vary depending on the type and stage, but may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and/or targeted therapy. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for improving patient outcomes, so it is important to be aware of the signs and seek medical attention if any symptoms of a sarcoma are present.
