Osteosarcoma

Osteosarcoma is a malignant bone cancer that affects cells in the bone that produce bone tissue. It is the most common type of bone cancer in children and young adults, most commonly affecting the arms, legs and pelvis. The primary treatment for osteosarcoma is surgery combined with chemotherapy, and radiation therapy may also be used. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential for the best prognosis, as untreated osteosarcoma can spread to other parts of the body. Osteosarcoma is a devastating diagnosis, but with advances in diagnosis, treatments, and research, it is becoming increasingly treatable, offering hope to those affected.
