Neoplasms/pathogenicity
Neoplasms are abnormal, uncontrolled growths of cells that are often malignant and can spread to other parts of the body, a process known as metastasis. Pathogenicity refers to the ability of a neoplasm to cause harm. Depending on the type and stage of the neoplasm, treatments can vary from surgery to radiation and chemotherapy. Early detection and treatment of neoplasms can greatly increase survival rates. Neoplasms can also be linked to lifestyle and environmental factors, thus proper prevention methods and health education is essential to decrease their prevalence.
