Neoplasms/diagnosis
Neoplasms, or tumors, are abnormal growths in the body caused by an uncontrolled growth of cells. Diagnosis of neoplasms can be aided by a variety of laboratory, imaging and additional tests, such as biopsy or endoscopy, to determine the type and stage of the tumor. Accurate diagnosis of neoplasm is important in order to choose the best treatment option for a patient and to provide the best possible care, as neoplasms can be benign or malignant (cancerous). Early diagnosis and treatment of neoplasms can help to better manage the disease and may reduce the risk of relapse.
