Mutation
Mutation is a process of genetic change, often caused by genetic factors such as radiation and chemicals, that can take place in humans, animals, and other living organisms. Mutations are the driving force behind genetic diversity and evolution, enabling organisms to adapt and survive in changing environments. Scientists study mutations in order to understand how they can be used to improve crop yields, reduce the spread of diseases, and identify and treat genetic conditions. In medicine, mutations are sought after in order to develop therapies and treatments for disease. In agriculture, mutations are used to enhance crop varieties and create resilient and productive food sources.
