Cancer Genotyping
Cancer genotyping is a laboratory test used to identify unique genetic changes within a patient’s cancer cells. These changes help clinicians understand the disease better, and guide treatment decisions, such as identifying targeted therapies for the patient. It is also used for predicting cancer recurrence and monitoring the response to treatment. Cancer genotyping is increasingly important in understanding the biology of cancer, and is enabling the transition from traditional cancer treatments to precision medicine.
