Breast Milk Storage
Breast milk storage is the practice of preserving a mother's breast milk for feeding to her baby at a later time. It enables mothers to continue feeding their babies breast milk, even when separated from their baby, such as when the mother returns to work. It also allows for mothers to take advantage of their increased milk supply due to the Let-Down Reflex. Breast milk storage has numerous health benefits for the baby, such as reduced risk of infection and illness and improved cognitive development. The practice can be done at home by storing breast milk in a clean, covered container in the refrigerator or freezer. It is important to follow specific guidelines to ensure safe storage and preserve the quality of the milk.
