Overview

Nutrition is the process of taking in and utilizing food for growth, metabolism, and overall health and wellbeing. Proper nutrition helps maintain and improve physical and mental health, and is important for preventing and managing many diseases. Eating a variety of healthy foods from the major food groups provides the body with all the necessary nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and energy needed for a healthy lifestyle.
