Overview

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women worldwide, and one of the leading causes of death from cancer in women. It is a malignant (cancerous) tumor that grows from the cells of the breast. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to improving a patient’s prognosis and survival rate. Treatment options include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy, and immunotherapy. Regular self-breast exams, and mammograms are recommended for early detection and diagnosis. Knowing the symptoms of breast cancer, any changes in the breast, and regular check-ups are essential for early detection and successful treatment.
