Overview
Spinal cord cancer prognosis is the process of predicting how effective a course of treatment will be in treating cancer of the spinal cord. It is important for clinicians to be able to predict how well a course of treatment will work to enable them to choose the most effective treatment plan. Factors taken into account when providing a prognosis include the type and grade of the cancer, the patient's age, and the size and location of the tumor. Spinal cord cancer prognosis helps clinicians to determine the best course of action for the patient and to predict the outcome of treatment. It can also provide patients and their families with realistic expectations of what to expect from treatment.
