Vomiting

Vomiting, also known as emesis, is the active expulsion of the contents of the stomach and is a normal body response to a range of conditions. It can be an indicator of a wide variety of medical conditions, including food poisoning, infections, or physiological issues such as motion sickness or indigestion. Vomiting can also be therapeutic in certain situations, such as when used to expel a toxin or medication. In these cases, it is important to allow safe rehydration and seek medical advice. Vomiting can be serious when the underlying cause is unknown, untreated, or extreme. If vomiting persists for more than 24 hours or is accompanied by other symptoms, medical attention should be sought.
