Left Ventricular Hypertrophy

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is a type of heart disease in which the left ventricle of the heart becomes abnormally thick. This can lead to an increased risk of heart failure and stroke, and can be caused by high blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes, or certain inherited conditions. LVH is a significant medical concern, as it can lead to a wide range of health problems and even death. Treatment depends on the cause, but typically includes lifestyle changes, medications, and surgery. Early detection and treatment of LVH can greatly improve long-term prognosis and reduce the risk of developing further complications.
