Recombinase Polymerase Amplification
Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) is a technique used to rapidly and sensitively detect genes and other DNA sequences. It is based on the enzymes ‘recombinases’ that can recognize specific DNA sequences and join them together. RPA is a more efficient alternative to other molecular techniques such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), as it requires shorter reaction times and lower concentrations of enzymes. Additionally, it can be used on a wide range of target molecules, including those with high GC-content or degenerate oligonucleotide sequences. Furthermore, its cost-effectiveness and sensitivity make RPA suitable for a variety of applications, from biomedical research to the diagnosis of disease-causing agents. As a result, it is a powerful tool for research and healthcare.
