Pathology
Pathology is the scientific study of disease, a branch of medicine which involves investigating possible causes of a person's illness and making a diagnosis. Pathology can refer to either the study of disease in general or the specific examination of a sample of tissue from a patient. It encompasses the diagnosis, study and research of many different diseases, such as cancer, infections and cardiovascular diseases. Pathology is an important part of modern medicine, as it allows doctors to effectively diagnose and treat patients in order to improve their health and quality of life.
