Blue Native Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis
Blue Native Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (BN-PAGE) is a widely used technique for separating native complexes of membrane proteins. It is a powerful tool for characterizing macromolecular complexes, such as enzymes, receptors, channels, and transporters, in their native form. BN-PAGE is also used for determining protein stoichiometry, the relative abundance of different species, the relative mobility of different complexes and the purification of macromolecular complexes. BN-PAGE offers advantages over traditional protein electrophoresis techniques, such as increased resolution and the ability to detect low abundance proteins in native form.
