Proteomics

Proteomics is the large-scale study of proteins, their structures and functions. Proteins play a crucial role in almost all cellular activities, so understanding how they work and interact is essential to bettering our understanding of the cell. Proteomics provides researchers with powerful tools to help identify and characterize proteins in a variety of systems, ranging from single cells to whole organisms. By applying proteomics techniques, researchers can gain insight into protein interactions, identify biomarkers for disease diagnosis, and develop new therapies. Moreover, proteomics can be used to analyze the effects of drugs or environmental conditions on protein expression and function. Ultimately, the knowledge obtained from proteomics research provides insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of various diseases and pathways to better health.
