Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a bone disease that leads to a decrease in bone mass and deterioration of bone tissue, resulting in weakened bones that are more prone to fracture. It is most commonly found in older individuals, as bone mass deteriorates as part of the ageing process, but can also affect younger people. Osteoporosis can cause a loss of height and chronic pain, as well as an increased risk of fracture. By understanding the risk factors and taking steps to reduce them, it is possible to reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis or slow the rate of bone deterioration. Treatment involves lifestyle changes, such as calcium and vitamin D supplements, exercise, and drugs. Osteoporosis is a serious medical condition that should not be ignored and can be managed with the right treatment plan and lifestyle changes.
