Overview
Obesity is a serious health condition defined as having an excessive amount of body fat. It increases the risk of developing a wide range of health problems, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and certain types of cancer. To help prevent obesity, individuals should practice healthy behaviors such as eating a balanced diet, getting regular physical activity, regulating portion sizes, and avoiding high-calorie snacks. Additionally, research suggests that supplementing with vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids may be beneficial in maintaining a healthy weight.
