Nephropathy
Nephropathy is a medical term used to describe a range of conditions affecting the kidneys. It involves damage to the tiny filters within the kidneys called glomeruli, which filter the blood and remove waste. It is a leading cause of kidney failure and can significantly reduce the quality of life if left untreated. Nephropathy can be caused by a number of factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, drug interactions, or exposure to toxins. Treatment depends on the underlying cause, but may include lifestyle changes, medications, or dialysis. Early diagnosis and treatment is vital to preventing further damage and improving overall prognosis.
