Insulin Resistance
Insulin resistance is a condition in which the body's cells do not respond to insulin appropriately. This can lead to a buildup of glucose in the bloodstream, leading to a variety of chronic health problems, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and stroke. Insulin resistance is usually caused by lifestyle factors such as a poor diet, lack of physical activity, and obesity. Improving lifestyle habits and understanding the causes and effects of insulin resistance are key to managing and preventing its complications. Identifying and managing insulin resistance in time can help to address the underlying causes and reduce the risk of developing chronic conditions such as diabetes.
