Impaired Fasting Glycaemia Diet
Impaired fasting glycaemia (IFG) is a metabolic condition in which blood sugar levels rise higher than normal while the body is in a fasting state. This can be caused by eating too many carbohydrates and sugars, or by poor insulin production. An IFG diet involves reducing carbohydrates and sugars and increasing protein and dietary fibre intake. This can help lower blood sugar levels and regulate symptoms associated with IFG. It can also reduce the risk of developing more serious metabolic conditions such as type 2 diabetes. Following an IFG diet can also help improve overall health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and stroke.
