Glucose Regulation

Glucose regulation is an important process which maintains normal blood sugar levels. It is important for the body to have enough sugar for its metabolic functions, but too much sugar can be dangerous and lead to health problems. Glucose regulation is the process of balancing sugar levels in the body. When the body senses that there is too much sugar in the bloodstream, it signals the pancreas to release insulin, which helps cells absorb sugar and lower blood sugar levels. When the body senses that there is too little sugar, the pancreas signals the liver to release a hormone called glucagon, which causes the liver to break down stored sugar and release it into the blood. By regulating blood sugar levels, glucose regulation helps maintain normal energy levels and overall health.
