Endocrine System
The endocrine system is a network of glands and organs that produce hormones, chemical messengers that regulate many of the body’s processes. These hormones control our metabolism, growth, sexual development, and much more. The endocrine system is vital in helping to maintain a healthy balance in the body. It is also important for body functions such as reproduction, digestion, and even sleep. By maintaining the proper levels of hormones, the endocrine system helps prevent illnesses such as diabetes, obesity, and thyroid disorders.
