Diabetic Dyslipidemia
Diabetic dyslipidemia is a disorder of lipid metabolism that occurs in diabetes patients. It is characterized by changes in cholesterol and other lipids in the blood, including elevated levels of triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. These changes lead to an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Treatment of diabetic dyslipidemia involves lifestyle changes, such as regular physical activity and a healthy diet, as well as medications to lower lipid levels and reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Monitoring of lipid levels is essential for those with diabetic dyslipidemia, in order to ensure that treatment is effective and to prevent the development of further complications.
