Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1
Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1 (also known as T1DM) is a condition in which the body does not produce enough insulin, which is a hormone that helps regulate the amount of glucose in the blood. This results in high levels of glucose in the blood, leading to various health problems. Symptoms of T1DM include increased thirst and urination, fatigue, and blurred vision. If left untreated, diabetes can lead to serious complications including heart, kidney, and nerve damage. Treatment for T1DM usually involves insulin injections and lifestyle changes. With proper care and management, people with T1DM can lead full and healthy lives.
