Coronary Heart Disease
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a condition that affects the heart's ability to supply sufficient blood and oxygen to the rest of the body. It is one of the leading causes of death in the world and affects millions of people globally. CHD is usually caused by a build up of plaque in the coronary arteries, which decreases the amount of oxygen and nutrients that reach the heart. This can lead to chest pain, breathlessness and other symptoms. Treatment for CHD may include lifestyle changes, medication and surgery. With proper care and management, people with CHD can lead healthy, active lives.
