Cloud computing is a type of Internet-based computing whereby users access data and applications over the internet rather than from a physical computer. It is used to provide storage and computing power for users, organisations and businesses. Cloud computing offers many advantages including cost savings, operational savings, increased scalability, increased performance and enhanced data security. Users of cloud computing can also benefit from lower IT costs, faster application development and improved data portability. Cloud computing also provides an environment for businesses to develop customised applications and manage data efficiently. Cloud computing has become an integral part of modern business operations and is used to support a wide range of activities, such as web hosting, enterprise applications, analytics, software development, and more.
