Overview
Stigma is a mark of disgrace that sets someone apart from others in society. Stigmas can be physical or mental, and can lead to people being stigmatised, or discriminated against. They can have a profound impact on a person's well-being and quality of life. Stigmas are a common form of social exclusion, and can lead to difficulties in forming and maintaining relationships, gaining employment, and accessing services. By understanding the causes and consequences of stigmas, we can work together to reduce the stigma and help create a more inclusive society.
