Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is a psychological therapy that combines mindfulness with cognitive therapy techniques to help people with mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. MBCT helps people become more aware of their thoughts and feelings without judgment, so that they can better manage them. The therapy teaches participants to observe their thoughts and feelings objectively, to recognize and accept them, and to develop tools and strategies to better manage them. Studies have found that MBCT is effective in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety and psychological distress and can lead to long-term improvements in mental health. MBCT can also help improve physical health, as it encourages people to be more in tune with their bodies, which can improve sleep and reduce stress.
