Overview
Mental Health Psychology is the scientific study of how people think, feel, and behave in relation to their mental health. This field of psychology examines how mental health issues can affect an individual's overall well-being, as well as how psychological treatments can help individuals to better manage their mental health. Mental Health Psychology is also concerned with researching the causes of mental illnesses, developing effective prevention and treatment programs for those affected, and educating the public about mental health issues. Its importance lies in its ability to improve the quality of life for those dealing with mental health issues, and to help reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. Mental Health Psychology can be used to assist in the diagnosis of mental disorders, the development of prevention strategies and treatments, and the promotion of positive mental health.
