Overview
Alzheimer's care is the process of providing medical, social, and emotional support for those living with Alzheimer's disease or other related dementias. It involves recognizing the unique needs of individuals living with Alzheimer's and providing services that respond to those needs. These services may include physical care, cognitive stimulation, psychosocial support, and strategies to manage behavior. Long-term care and support for people with Alzheimer's is essential to ensure that they receive the best possible quality of life and have the best chance of coping with the disease. Alzheimer's care helps to reduce the burden on the individual, their family and carers, and the healthcare system.
