Overview

Hypnosis is a trance-like state in which one has heightened focus and concentration and a decreased awareness of external stimuli. It is often used as a form of therapy, since it can help people access suppressed memories and emotions and can be used to treat pain and anxiety, as well as to promote positive behaviours and change bad habits. Hypnosis has also been used in a variety of contexts, from medical and psychological treatments to entertainment and public speaking. It is a safe, non-invasive method of treatment which has shown to be effective in many cases.
