Alcohol Consumption
Alcohol consumption is the ingestion of alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and spirits. Alcohol consumption has both short-term and long-term effects on the human body and is associated with numerous medical conditions. In moderation, it can have various benefits, including reducing the risk of certain cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, some research suggests that moderate alcohol consumption may have a protective effect against dementia and other age-related cognitive decline. However, excessive or binge drinking can increase the risk of numerous physical and mental health issues. As such, guidelines from health professionals recommend limiting alcohol intake to reduce the risk of negative health outcomes.
