Waterborne Diseases
Waterborne diseases are illnesses caused by consuming or coming into contact with contaminated water. These illnesses can result in significant morbidity and mortality in humans, especially in developing countries with limited access to clean water sources. Common waterborne diseases include diarrheal diseases, cholera, typhoid fever, shigellosis, and hepatitis A. Treatment of waterborne diseases requires both the use of safe water sources and proper sanitation. Prevention of waterborne diseases is essential and can be achieved through proper management of water sources, improved sanitation and hygiene, water treatment, and education.
